Milwaukee Airport Bomb-Sniffing Dog Receives a Shower of Toys

Rex's Retirement Day: A Tribute to a Loyal TSA Dog

A cherished member of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, a six-year-old German shorthaired pointer named Rex, celebrated his last day on the job. Rex was recognized by the TSA team with a playful send-off involving an abundance of tennis balls as a reward for his years of service.

Farewell to Service

On his final morning, Rex, alongside his handler Regina Eisenberg, showcased his skills one last time by detecting a scent on a test passenger. This act of service prompted his colleagues to shower him with his favorite toys. Marking the end of his duty period, Regina removed Rex's 'Do Not Pet' patch, opening the door for affectionate farewell pets from the airport guests.

Life After Duty

Rex holds a special place in the TSA's heart as he was part of the inaugural canine team for passenger screening in Wisconsin. As he steps into retirement, Rex will enjoy the comfort of his home with Regina, where he anticipates lounging on the couch, visiting the beach, and playing with his squeaky toys to his heart's content.
